Our New Atholl Estates Ranger Service Blog

Welcome to the Atholl Estates Ranger Service blog.
From here you can find out about the latest upcoming events, wildlife news, information about the estate and information about waymarked trails around the estate.

Spring is finally arriving and its beautiful and sunny here.  The snow drops are in bloom along our snow drop trail and there is plenty of wildlife to be seen on the waymarked trails.  Just this morning I saw a red squirrel running across the bridge in Blair Atholl.

If you have a good length if time on your hand I would recommend going walking along the Glen Tilt trail which is a 10 mile round trip running up by the River Tilt.  You get some beautiful views of the Glens and the surrounding landscape and should be able to spot lots of intersting wildlife on the way.  Just the other day I spotted kestrels, lots of red squirrels and over 30 red deer lazing about in the moorlands overhead.

If you fancy something a bit shorter then there are a few 4 mile walks round about.  Find out more in our waymarked trails leaflet on the Atholl Estates website.
